Used to fight with those plastic fuel line clips for an hour, now I just use a $5 pick set from Harbor Freight

Grab the right angle pick and slide it under the tab while you push the line in. That little bit of pressure from your thumb is the trick. The clip just pops right off without a fight. I keep that pick set in my pocket now for any hose or electrical connector.

Oh man, I feel that. I spent way too long trying to be a hero with a flathead screwdriver. Finally caved and got the picks. Felt like a total genius after the first one popped off in ten seconds.
