Started marking torque specs directly on parts and it's a game changer

I got tired of forgetting torque values during reassembly, so I began using a paint pen to write them on parts. Last month, working on a Duramax head, I marked the bolt sequence and specs. When I came back after lunch, I didn't have to dig through the manual again. It saved time and I'm sure everything is tight right. This habit has made my work flow smoother and reduced my stress. Has anyone else done something similar? I'm curious if there are better ways to keep track during big jobs.

On that Duramax head, paint pen residue can actually CAUSE sealing issues later.

Scrape it all off with a razor blade first... works every time.

Man, that's so true. It's like when people use duct tape for a quick fix but it just makes the real repair harder later. I see it all the time with old stickers on tools, you just gotta take the time to get all the gunk off first. Why do we always try to skip the boring prep step?
