Rebuilding injectors at home: skill builder or time waster?

Some say doing it yourself teaches good skills and saves money. Others think it's too risky and might lead to bigger bills. Curious what the forum thinks.

My uncle taught me with basic tools, no fancy ultrasonic cleaner needed.

What about the hidden tool costs people forget? You might save on the rebuild kit but then need a proper pop tester, seal drivers, maybe a ultrasonic cleaner. That's another few hundred bucks right there. Plus if you score an injector body by accident, now you're buying a whole new unit instead of just paying for labor. Feels like the risk vs reward only works if you're doing this all the time, not just for one truck.

Guess my uncle's method was just a hammer and a dream lmao. Forgot to factor in the cost of replacing the garage door after a nozzle shot through it.
