Old timer at the truck stop in Flagstaff called my torque wrench a 'clicker toy'
I was doing a head gasket job on a 6.7 Powerstroke in the parking lot, torquing everything down in three steps like the book says. This guy named Frank walks over, watches for a minute, and says 'Kid, you trust that clicker toy more than your own arm? You gotta feel the bolt stretch, not hear a noise.' I felt dumb, but next job I tried it his way on a few bolts and... he was right. You really can feel it. Anyone else learn to trust their hands over the tool sometimes?
