I think everyone's wrong about oil change intervals on newer trucks
At a shop in Phoenix last spring I had a 2020 Ram 2500 come in with 45k miles running great. Owner had been going by the computer every 15k miles like the manual says. Everyone at my shop was freaking out saying that's way too long between changes. But I pulled the filter and sent the oil to Blackstone Labs and it came back fine. Now I'm starting to think these 15k intervals are actually fine with the right synthetic oil. Has anyone else actually tested their oil instead of just guessing?

Phoenix heat is a whole different animal for oil degradation, so those lab results might not hold up in a colder climate like mine (northern Minnesota).

Those 212 degree Phoenix oil temps are brutal but I bet most daily drivers there never even hit that unless they're sitting in rush hour. My buddy runs 0w-20 in his F-150 up here and sends samples to Blackstone every year and his numbers look fine even with the cold starts. Unless you're tracking the car or towing heavy I think a lot of people overthink this stuff.
