Appreciation post: That freak Tuesday last spring where every engine I touched ran perfect

I had a day maybe 6 months ago where I did three injector swaps and a turbo rebuild on a Freightliner and not one damn thing fought me. No stripped bolts, no broken fittings, just smooth sailing start to finish. Has anyone else had a day that went too good and you just knew the next shift would be a nightmare to balance it out?

That's a fine line you're walking there. I don't buy that the universe is keeping score like that. Bad days happen because stuff breaks, not because the cosmos is sending you a bill. You had a good day because you got lucky and everything lined up right. Next shift might be a pain, but that's just the job, not some karmic payback system.

Wonder if those perfect days are the universe's way of luring you into a false sense of security before a big job that'll make you question your career choices.

Oh man, that hits way too close to home. It's like the universe gives you a nice day just to soften the blow for whatever chaos is waiting around the corner.
