That moment my d100 landed on its point and rolled off the table
Last night we were in the final boss fight of a year long campaign. My paladin needed a nat 100 to save the party from a TPK. I rolled my big chunky d100 and it landed perfectly on its point, then wobbled off the table into my cat's water bowl. We spent 15 minutes arguing whether it counted as a re roll or not. Has anyone else had a dice just totally fail to give a result like that?

Gotta be honest, I see that as a valid roll (and a nat 1 honestly). The dice physically landed on a point instead of a face, so there's no clear result to accept. I'd say your DM was totally fair to make you reroll, even if it hurts after a year long campaign.

Yeah, I've been in that exact spot before. Dice landing on an edge or a corner is just a dead roll, no way to call it fair for either side. Best move is to just scoop it up and reroll before anyone has to argue about what it means.
