Ran a one-shot at a con and forgot the dice, now I never leave home without my backup bag

At Gen Con last year I was about to run a 4-hour Call of Cthulhu game when I realized my dice bag was sitting on my kitchen table back in Chicago. I panicked and borrowed a set from the booth next to me, but those dice were cursed, I rolled a 99 on a sanity check and the whole table wanted to reroll. The player running the booth laughed and handed me a free set of cheap plastic dice from a promotional bucket, and honestly those felt better than my expensive metal ones. Since then I always keep a zip pouch with two full sets plus a golf pencil in my car glovebox. It cost me nothing extra and saved my bacon twice at local game store events. Do you guys have any emergency gear you swear by for convention horror stories?

Me and my buddy started a thing where we put a laminated character sheet template in every emergency kit we have, just folded up with a dry erase marker. We got stuck at a Gamehole Con with zero character sheets left at the registration desk, and that little laminated sheet with the basic stats and a blank name line saved our whole table from winging it without any numbers. I also tape a tiny flashlight to the inside of my dice bag now, not for rolling in the dark or anything cool, just because those con hallways are pitch black and my phone dies by hour six every time. The pencil thing you mentioned is huge too, I got caught with only a pen once and the owner of the game store had to loan me a sharpie that smeared everywhere. Honestly the best emergency gear is stuff you will never use, but when you need it, you feel like a genius for three whole seconds.
