That one player who minmaxed my homebrew and then laughed at it
Last month at the shop, a new guy sat down, ignored my whole plot about the cursed pixel dungeon, and just said 'your traps are pointless when I have a +4 dagger,' then rolled a 19 and walked through every room, so I swapped the final boss out for a goblin that steals weapons, has anyone else had to rewrite a whole session on the spot to keep one person from ruining it?
Oh man, I mean, that goblin swap was a solid move honestly. But idk, maybe it's just me, but a +4 dagger at the start seems like the real issue there, not the player's attitude. Like, handing out that kind of gear is kind of asking for the dungeon to get walked through.
