That talk with my uncle about his old bicycle deck changed how I see card stock
My uncle came over last weekend to help me fix a leaky pipe under the sink, and he saw my collection of custom playing cards on the shelf. He picked up a deck I got from a kickstarter last year and said "you know these feel cheap cause they're printed on too thin of stock." At first I was like whatever old man, but then he grabbed his old bicycle deck from the 90s and let me compare. The difference was night and day - his cards had this snap and weight to them that mine just don't have. Now I'm second guessing all the decks I bought that were hyped for the art but used the cheapest printing option. Has anyone else compared a modern custom deck to an old school bicycle and felt let down by the build quality?

Man, I used to think people were just being nostalgic about old cards but now I'm totally rethinking that. Your uncle showing you the difference is exactly what happened to me with my dad's old 80s bikes.
