Switched to crushed foil seals on my poker decks - night and day difference

Got tired of my custom cards getting sticky after a few months so I swapped out the standard plastic wrap for those thin crushed foil seals like the old Bee decks had. After about 4 weeks of weekly poker nights, the cards felt way closer to new and the edges didn't fray as fast. I think the foil creates a tighter seal against humidity or something. Anyone else experiment with different deck seals or just stick with whatever comes stock?

The foil seal might help with humidity, but I've found the real issue is how quickly the cards break in from use. Those crushed seals can actually trap moisture against the cards if you live somewhere humid. Sticking with standard cellophane has always worked fine for me, what kind of humidity levels are you dealing with?

Those crushed seals trapping moisture" hit me hard. I live in Louisiana. Humidity is basically our state bird. I tried foil seals once last summer. Woke up one morning, went to shuffle, and the deck felt like a sponge. Had to dry the cards out on a windowsill for three days. Never again. Stick with cellophane here too.

The crushed seals are actually worse in humidity, not better. I've seen decks left in cases with foil seals get that sticky residue on the cards way faster than anything with cellophane. Cellophane lets the deck breathe just enough without soaking up all that Louisiana swamp air.
