My foil deck turned into a mirror ball after one poker night
I bought this custom foil-backed deck from a seller on Etsy, paid like $28 for it, and thought it would be the coolest thing for our Friday game in Austin. Three hands in, one guy spilled his beer right on the table and a drop hit the cards. The foil started peeling off in little flakes, and by the end of the night the whole deck looked like a scratched disco mirror. I learned that fancy foil decks are basically just for showing off, not for actual play. Now I keep a cheap plastic deck for drinks and use the foil one only for quick magic demos with no liquids nearby. Has anyone else ruined a nice deck that way, or do you have a brand that actually holds up to real use?
