Fell for that $50 gilded deck hype and got trash
Bought some fancy gold foil deck off Kickstarter for $50 and the edges were already peeling after one shuffle. The ink smudged too on the 7 of hearts. Anyone else get burned by those overpriced limited runs?

My buddy Dave dropped $80 on a "hand-painted" tarot deck from some Instagram ad and the cards came with the paint literally flaking off onto his hands. He tried to wipe the 5 of cups clean and the whole face just smeared into a blob. I got a $20 bicycle deck from a drugstore that shuffles like butter and has held up for three years now. Some of these limited edition things look nice in a display case but they just aren't built to actually use.

Man, that sucks! I feel Dave's pain though, I once bought a "luxury" deck off Etsy and the gold foil started peeling before I even finished shuffling. @john430 is right, sometimes the fancy stuff just can't hold up to actual use like those budget Bicycles. I'll take a beat-up deck that works over a pretty dust collector any day.
