Spent 4 hours adjusting headband tension on my new cans
I finally got a pair of over-ear headphones last week and the clamping force was absolutely killing my ears after 30 minutes. Tried bending the metal band a tiny bit, nope. Tried stretching them over a stack of books overnight, still nope. It took me like 4 separate sessions over 3 days before I realized I had to heat the band up with a hair dryer first then bend it. Went from vice grip to barely there in like 5 minutes. Anyone else struggle more than they should with getting headband fit right?

Ngl I kinda have to disagree with the hair dryer method. Most metal headbands are designed to flex naturally and heating them up can actually mess with the temper long term. Bending cold is slower but safer if you go real gradual. I just use two hands and bend the metal band a tiny fraction of a millimeter at a time then test fit after each adjustment. Took me maybe 15 minutes total over two evenings.

People get so obsessed with the quick fix these days. Slow and steady actually works better for a lot of things, not just headphones. Kinda applies to life in general if you think about it.
