Rant: Everyone loves foam ear tips but I think they are overrated

Tbh I have tried foam tips from three different brands over the last 6 months and they all lose their shape after a week. Everyone online says they block noise better but my silicone tips isolate just as good and last for months. I swapped back to my old silicone pair last Tuesday and my left ear canal actually feels less sore now. Has anyone else had issues with foam tips wearing out that fast or is it just me?

Oh man, I went through the same thing a few months back... tried Comply and two other generic brands and they all just gave up after a week or so. They'd start crumbling or staying smooshed in my ear and I'd be constantly adjusting them. The noise blocking was good at first but not worth the hassle... what brand did you end up switching back to? I'm curious if there's a specific silicone pair that's holding up for you because I keep buying cheap multipacks and they always feel too stiff or too loose.

Ugh, Comply tips are like that one friend who promises to help you move but shows up with a single beer and zero energy. I went through three different memory foam brands before I realized they all dissolve into ear confetti after a week. Honestly, I went back to the basic silicone ones that came with my earbuds because I got tired of spending money on stuff that disintegrates. I'm convinced they're designed to fall apart so you keep buying more, like a subscription service for ear trash. For the loose vs stiff problem, maybe look for ones with a little flange or wing tip, those hold in place better than the plain bullet shapes. Stay away from those 10 dollar multipacks, they're just recycled pool toys or something.
