Hit 10,000 total hours on my daily drivers and felt weirdly proud
My tracking app surprised me this morning with 10,000 hours logged across my go-to over-ears since I started counting back in 2021, which is basically a full year of my life just listening. The earpads are flattened like pancakes and the headband is held together with electrical tape, but they still sound better to me than my new pairs, anyone else get weirdly attached to gear past its prime?
My sad little spreadsheet tells me I have spent more time with my beat up pair than most of my actual friends, which says way more about me than the headphones. That tape job on your headband is basically a badge of honor at this point, and new gear just does not have that same worn in feel. My old pair sounds wrong to everyone but me, and honestly that is how I know they are mine.
