Hit 10,000 hours on the same pair of IEMs and they finally died mid-commute in Chicago
My old daily drivers gave out right at 10,000 hours on a Tuesday morning, and the left driver just went silent, which made me realize I should've replaced the cable 2,000 hours ago, so has anyone else pushed a budget pair way past their rated lifespan and regretted it?

The left driver went on my old pair right around 8,000 hours, so I feel your pain on that timing. I started carrying a cheap backup set in my bag ever since, just for days when the main pair flakes out on the train. It's less about the money and more about not being stuck with silence or phone speakers on a long commute.
