That $130 phone gimbal I bought in Portland was a total waste
Everyone raves about phone gimbals for smooth video but I got one last spring and used it maybe twice. The balancing takes forever and you still have to walk like a weirdo for it to work, plus the app kept crashing on my Pixel 7. If you're not filming actual action sports or weddings, your phone's built-in stabilization is honestly fine. Anyone else dump cash on a gadget that ended up in a drawer for months?

Sell it on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and get some of your money back, then move on. I learned the hard way that if a gadget sits unused for three months, it's never going to get used. The built-in stabilization on modern phones has gotten so good that gimbals only matter for specific shots like walking backwards or running. Next time, try filming with your phone for a week first, and if you actually hit a real limitation, then consider buying the gear.
