Overheard a kid say their phone's camera is 'so good it fixes blur' and I had to stop and think

I was at the hardware store picking up some floor leveler and this teenager was telling a friend how their phone magically sharpens blurry photos. I felt old because I remember when a blurry pic was just trash, you know? But it got me thinking about how much we've outsourced skill to software. Has anyone else noticed a 'figuring things out' skill we just don't need anymore because of gadgets?

Man I can barely figure out which way the USB plug goes, so that kid's light years ahead of me.

Oh yeah I feel that. When I was first messing around with coding I started by just building real simple stuff like a calculator in Python. Honestly what helped me was finding a project that actually solved a dumb problem I had. I wanted to know how much time I was wasting on social media so I built a little script to track my browser tabs. It was super basic and probably full of bugs but it got me hooked. Your mileage may vary but the whole "make something you'd actually use" thing really worked for me.

Oh lord same here. I still have to try three times before I get a USB in the right way. Kids these days are out here building apps while I'm over here celebrating when I don't accidentally plug the charger in upside down.
