My kid showed me a phone trick in the car that I now use every single morning
My 13 year old grabbed my phone at a red light on Highway 99 last month and set up a shortcut that reads my calendar out loud when I plug in my charger at night. I had no idea the Shortcuts app could do that and I had been squinting at a tiny screen for years. Now I dock the phone around 9pm in the kitchen and it just tells me what is on deck tomorrow while I rinse dishes. Took him about 4 minutes to build it and I still could not recreate it on my own. Anyone got a shortcut that beats this one? I want to add my grocery list to it next.
My buddy did something like this with his garage door and his wife's phone. She pulls in the driveway, her phone hits the wifi, and the shortcut texts him "she's home" so he can act busy in the garage instead of pretending he was already working. He showed me the setup once and it was like 12 steps of stuff I would never figure out on my own. The part that got me was he set it to also kick on the lights in the hallway so it looks like he was walking in from the other room. Anyway the grocery list thing you want should be easy, the Notes app can pass right into the shortcut so it reads the list out too.
