Google Maps has a secret speed trap alert setting I just found
Was driving through Nashville last week and got pulled over. Total buzzkill. Later that night I was messing with Google Maps settings. Found a thing called "speed trap reporting" buried in the navigation settings. Turned it on. Now I see little icons for cops and accidents other drivers report. My buddy showed me that you can also report them yourself by tapping a button. Been a month and no tickets since. Anyone else use this feature or have a better app for it?

Honestly this is just one of those things where tech is finally catching up to what people have been doing forever. Like we all used to slow down and look for cops on the side of the road, now the phone does it for us. Tbh it makes me wonder what other hidden stuff is in apps we use every day that nobody bothers to check. Ngl since I turned this on I've seen like 10 speed traps in my area that I would have totally missed.

Yeah "makes me wonder what other hidden stuff is in apps we use every day" - that hit home. Feels like everything has some secret feature now that nobody tells you about. Like I had Waze for years before I realized you could customize the voice or report road hazards just by tapping the screen. It's weird how companies just bury useful stuff in menus like they're hiding Easter eggs.
