Appreciation post: random guy at the coffee shop fixed my earbuds issue in 10 seconds
I was at Brew House last Tuesday complaining my wireless earbuds kept cutting out, and this dude next to me just goes "wipe the mesh with a dry toothbrush". Tried it that night and they worked perfect. Has anyone else had some stranger just casually drop a lifesaver hack on you out of nowhere?

Wiping the mesh with a dry toothbrush is decent advice, but it's not actually cleaning the mesh. You're just brushing dust off the surface. The real trick is to use a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on the bristles, because the mesh holes get clogged with earwax and oil from your skin. That's what actually kills the sound. I've revived three pairs of earbuds that way and it works way better than a dry brush. Just let them dry fully before putting them back in the case.

My AirPods were sounding muffled a few months back and I tried the dry toothbrush thing with zero luck. A buddy told me to dip the brush in 91% isopropyl alcohol and gently go at the mesh, and it was like night and day difference after they dried out. I've done it twice now on the same pair and they're still working great, just gotta be patient with the drying time.
