Pro tip: the guy at the dog park in Toledo taught me to let my beagle sniff everything
I used to rush my beagle, Rufus, through our 2 mile loop because I thought sniffing was just him stalling, but this older guy named Walt stopped me near the bench by the tennis courts and said the walk is for the dog, not the steps. Now we do a slow half mile in 40 minutes and Rufus passes out happy instead of pacing all night. Has anyone else cut their route distance way down and seen their dog act better?
