My neighbor in Boise swore my dog would quit pulling if I made him sit before every walk, and she was dead wrong
She stops me at the fence about 3 weeks ago and tells me her golden never pulled a day in his life because she makes him sit and wait at the door before every single walk. So I start doing it with my husky mix, sit, wait, then go, and he holds the sit for about 4 seconds and then drags me down the sidewalk like a sled. The thing is, the sit did help a little at the doorway but the second we hit the corner he's back to choking himself on the leash. Now I'm wondering if the harness is the real issue or if he just needs way more exercise before we even leave the yard. Anyone with a high energy breed figure out what actually calms them down on the walk itself?
