My leash grip was backwards for 3 years, a neighbor in Austin pointed it out
I always held the leash loop in my palm with the clip end going up toward the dog. Figured that was normal. Last Tuesday, a lady walking her beagle said I was doing it wrong. She showed me to hold the loop with my thumb on top and let the leash hang so the clip angles down. Turns out the way I had it made the dog pull more because the pressure hit the collar weird. I tested her way on the next block and my golden retriever actually walked looser. Took me 5 minutes to fix something I did on every single walk for years. Anybody else learn a basic dog walking habit late that everyone else seems to know?
