DAE switch from paved trail to the creek path and realize their dog walks twice as long now?
Honestly, I used to take my beagle, Gus, on the same 1.5 mile paved loop near our place in Boise every morning. He'd sniff maybe three times and pull me home in 25 minutes. Last month I tried the dirt path along the creek instead, and the difference was wild. That first walk took 50 minutes because he stopped at every rock and bush. The soft ground seems to make him want to explore way more than concrete does. Now I leave 15 minutes earlier just so we can finish before I'm late for work. Has anyone else noticed their dog acts totally different on dirt versus pavement?
