Tried a pun jar for my kids and it backfired at a family dinner

I set up a Mason jar with 30 dad jokes for Thanksgiving, but my 9-year-old pulled one that was so bad my sister-in-law actually spilled gravy on the tablecloth. She demanded I retire that jar on the spot, so now I'm wondering, has anyone ever had a joke bomb this hard in front of relatives?

Hoping the gravy stain at least got a laugh out of the kids, that jar sounds like a ticking time bomb for any family dinner!

You ever notice how the good jars always explode on the fanciest dish? Last Thanksgiving my aunt's pickled beets burst and stained the white tablecloth so bad it looked like a crime scene. Took us three washes and a lot of wine to see the silverware again. That's the kind of stain that becomes a family legend, honestly.
