Showerthought: I said pun chains were lazy, now I'm writing 3-deep ones at red lights

Two sides here: some folks swear a long pun chain is just showing off, and other folks say it's the purest test of a joke writer. My brother bet me 10 bucks I couldn't land a 3-joke chain about a broken pencil in under a minute, and I did it on the second try at a red light on Route 9, so now I'm not so sure the chain haters are right. Where do you all draw the line, 2 jokes deep or 4?
