Shoutout to brainstorming in the shower over sitting at my desk with a notepad
I always thought I had to sit down with a pen and force puns out, and for months I'd get two or three in an hour at my kitchen table. Last Tuesday I hopped in the shower before work and three ideas hit me before I even grabbed the shampoo. The trick is that my brain loosens up when I'm not staring at a blank page, so the puns just fall out. One of them was a chicken joke about crossing the road to get to the other side of the grill, which my brother actually groaned at. Now I keep a dive slate in the shower, the cheap one I got at a dive shop in San Diego, and I scribble the lines before they vanish. Does anyone else get their best material in the shower, or is it just me?
