My 5-year-old finally got my banana joke and laughed for 2 straight minutes
I've been telling this one about a banana walking into a bar and the bartender saying 'we don't serve fruit here' for ages. She always just stared at me. Then last Tuesday at breakfast she suddenly burst out laughing and repeated the punchline back to me. It took 4 years of daily repetition, but I finally got that first real dad joke win. Anyone else keep track of how long it takes your kids to actually get a joke?

Took my son almost 3 years to get the "why did the scarecrow win an award" one. Then one day he just cracked up in the car and I almost drove off the road. The long wait makes it way better when it finally lands.
