I finally gave up writing dad jokes on napkins
Used to scribble puns on bar napkins and lose them in my jacket pockets for months. Switched to a notes app on my phone after I washed a napkin with a solid 'why did the scarecrow' setup last fall and now I actually remember them. Anybody else dump paper for digital joke storage?

Scarecrow" doesn't have a setup, it's just the punchline with no joke attached.

Paper napkins have a certain charm that digital notes just can't match. The whole point of a bar napkin joke is that it's a temporary artifact, a little surprise waiting in a jacket pocket. If you're just transferring ideas to a phone, you lose the tactile fun and serendipity of finding a forgotten pun later.
