Showerthought: My bank app login scare made me rethink password habits

I got a notification for a login attempt from another city. It turned out to be a false alarm, but it shook me up. Now I use a password manager and make all my passwords long and random. It's way less stress knowing my accounts are safer.

Which password manager did you end up going with?

My old email password was literally "Fluffy123" for like seven years because it was easy to remember. That same false alarm happened to me last spring, a login from two states over, and I finally got serious about it. Switching to a password manager felt like a huge pain at first, but now I love not having to reset my password everywhere every other month. It really does take the worry away once you make the change.

How are you doing after that scare? I mean, mine was years ago but I still remember the panic. My go-to password back then was just my dog's name with my birthday, which is so bad. I finally got a password manager too and let it make those crazy long codes for me. It was annoying to set up, but now logging in anywhere is just a click. I don't miss having to remember which variation of "Spot1995" I used for which site.
