Remember when a good antivirus was all you needed?

I dropped about $80 on a VPN subscription a couple years back and it saved me when I had to use public wifi at the airport. Now I feel naked online without one. What's your go-to layer of protection these days?

Man, it's wild how the list of "must-have" digital armor just keeps growing. I used to just run an antivirus and call it a day. Now my browser's got like five privacy add-ons, I'm checking for https everywhere, and yeah, the VPN is always on. Feels like we're all just building our own little fortresses one subscription at a time.

My setup got so bloated I had to start over. I picked one ad blocker and a password manager, then deleted everything else. The constant updates and alerts were just noise. Now my browser runs faster and I actually know what each tool does. It feels less like a fortress and more like a locked front door.

80 cents a month for my DNS filter and it blocks most of the junk before it even loads. @jakep24 you nailed it, feels like we are all just piling on subscriptions until the machine slows down. My password manager is the only thing I won't drop, everything else I treat as temporary.
