My email spam went from 50 a day to almost zero after one simple change

I finally set up a unique email alias for every online account I have, like 'shopping-site@mydomain.com'. It took about a weekend to switch everything over. Now when a company sells my address, I see exactly who did it and can block just that alias. Has anyone else tried this method?

Yeah, that's the only way to do it. Makes you wonder why email providers don't just build this in, right?

My buddy spent a whole weekend setting up filters for his work email. He had like twenty rules for different clients and projects. It worked great for a month until his boss changed the naming convention on a big project folder. His entire system broke and important stuff got lost. He said it felt like building a house of cards. They really should just make a simple, smart filter that learns what you need.

Actually, they kinda do. Most email services have filters and rules you can set up yourself. It's just buried in settings so people don't find it easily.
