Ignoring software updates led to a malware scare on my laptop.

I set automatic updates and now sleep better at night.

Man, that's so true. It's like we're all guilty of ignoring the small maintenance stuff until it blows up in our face. I see it with people skipping oil changes for their car, or never clearing out their gutters until there's water damage. Setting things to run on autopilot is the only way some of these chores actually get done.
