Heard a guy at the coffee shop complaining his 'password123' got his email hacked
It was in line at The Daily Grind yesterday. He was telling his friend the whole story, and I just cringed. He used the same simple password on a few different sites, and one of them had a breach. That was all it took. It made me go home and finally set up a password manager like Bitwarden. Now all my main accounts have totally different, long passwords. Has anyone else had a close call that finally pushed them to use a manager?

Close calls are what get people moving, that's for sure. Just a tiny heads up though - Bitwarden is great, but it's actually an "open source" password manager, not a completely unique one like Dashlane or 1Password. They all do the same thing, storing your passwords in a vault and autofilling them (which is the real game changer). I remember trying to log into my bank after switching and realizing I had to look up my own password for the first time in ages. It's weird but worth it once you get used to it.

Oh man, that hits close to home. I used the same password for everything for years, and it was basically my dog's name and my birthday. The only reason I'm not hacked is because no one wants my old forum accounts for Neopets. Finally switched to a manager last year and it's a relief, even if I now have no idea what any of my passwords actually are.
