Finally switched to hardware key after my Google account got hit in June
I had a choice between a YubiKey and just sticking with SMS codes. Picked the YubiKey 5 NFC after my account got phished near Seattle. Setup took under 20 minutes but I still keep a backup code in my wallet. Anyone else make the jump after a scare or did you go with a different brand?

Smart move grabbing the 5 NFC, that thing is built like a tank and works with most phones just by tapping. Backup code in the wallet is key too, learned that the hard way when my first key died after a year of abuse. If you ever want some peace of mind, grab a second key and leave it at home or a trusted friend's place, it saves you from a nasty lockout.
