Dropped $45 on a plot structure workbook and it fixed my 3 month writing block
I kept starting prompts and quitting at page 4 because I had no clue where the middle was going. The workbook made me write one sentence per beat before drafting, and I finished two short stories in a weekend. Does anyone else use beat sheets for prompts, or do you just wing it and see where it lands?
Oh wow, the one sentence per beat thing is kind of genius because it forces you to actually know what happens before you write 2000 words of vibes. I never thought about using beat sheets for short stuff though, I always figured they were just for novels and kinda overkill. Do you use a different sheet for shorts or just trim down the same beats?
