A poetry slam in Tulsa made me toss my notebook of 3-word prompts

I went to a poetry slam at a coffee shop in Tulsa two months ago and a guy read a piece built from a single line he overheard at a laundromat. I had been writing prompts like "write about a door" for months and getting nothing good from them. He said his best stuff came from full moments, like a receipt left in a pocket or a bus driver yelling at someone. I went home and rewrote my whole list that night. So what do you all pull from, single words or whole scenes?
