My roommate's leftover curry ritual finally clicked after 6 weeks
He always reheated it at 6am with a spoon still in the tupperware, and one morning he said 'the spoon keeps the flavor from escaping,' which made me laugh so hard I nearly dropped my coffee, has anyone else had a roommate with a weird food rule that somehow made sense?
The whole "spoon keeps the flavor from escaping" thing is wild, but I get it now. I used to think people who did that were just being weird or lazy about washing dishes. Then my buddy used to leave a bay leaf in his chili overnight and swore it soaked back in, and honestly it did taste better the next day. Maybe it's something about the metal holding cold or whatever, but I stopped leaving my own leftovers open after that. Now I just drop a spoon in my own curry and don't question it.
