My roommate's 4am sous vide experiment turned into a 3 day science fair
I walked into the kitchen last Tuesday and there was a pork shoulder in a cooler with a sous vide stick running at 135 degrees. My roommate said it was for pulled pork and he'd done this before, so I shrugged it off. Day two, the brine smell got so strong that our cat started avoiding the whole apartment. By day three, he realized the timer was set for 72 hours instead of 7, and the meat was basically mush. He still served it to his buddies and they ate it with forks like soup. Has anyone else had a sous vide mishap that turned into a total loss of kitchen sanity?
