My roommate tried to unclog our shower drain with a Shop-Vac and flooded the bathroom
Last Tuesday, I came home to my roommate standing in two inches of water in our shared bathroom in our Minneapolis apartment, holding a wet Shop-Vac and looking confused. He had read online that a vacuum could pull out a hair clog, so he taped the hose to the drain and let it run for about ten minutes while he watched TV. The seal popped off and the machine sprayed drain water all over the walls, the towels, and my electric toothbrush. I made him call our landlord, who told us the ceiling in the unit below now has a stain, and we are splitting the $300 repair bill. Has anyone else had a roommate use some random internet trick that made a small problem way worse?"}
