My roommate gave me 48 hours to pick: his busted futon or a Craigslist couch from a guy in Fresno
So my roommate Marcus decided out of nowhere that his old futon had to go, and he told me I had two days to figure out what goes in the living room or he was dragging the futon to the curb himself. Option one was keeping that futon, which had a spring poking through the middle and smelled like his gym bag since 2022. Option two was a $60 couch I found on Craigslist from a guy in Fresno who said it came from a house with no pets, which turned out to be half true because his cat had clearly been living on it. I went with the Craigslist couch because anything beat that spring, and honestly the drive out there on a Saturday ate up my whole morning. Got it home and it fit the space way better than the futon ever did, but now Marcus acts like the couch is his since he "approved" the purchase. The cat hair is still showing up on my black work pants and it has been 3 weeks. Anyone else ever take a chance on a cheap used couch and regret the pet hair situation, or did I just get unlucky?
Cat hair on your work pants after 3 weeks is annoying but let's be real, that's not exactly a crisis. A $60 couch that fits the room better than the old futon sounds like a win to me, even with the fur situation. Vacuum it a couple times and throw a blanket over it, problem mostly solved. The bigger issue is Marcus acting like he owns the thing after you drove to Fresno and paid for it, that part would bug me way more than some cat hair.
