Took me 3 days to line up a boom pin because I skipped the manual adjustment trick
Last week I spent 3 days fighting a boom pin on a 90 ton Liebherr in Houston because I kept forcing it with a mallet instead of using the adjustment screw on the counterweight. A 22 year old helper named Marcus showed me the trick in about 4 minutes and I felt like an idiot. I always figured those little screws were just for show and now I'm checking every pin on the whole fleet. Anyone else got a shortcut they ignored for way too long before someone half their age set them straight?
