Thinking back to setting up a crane on that coastal job site ten years ago

We used to spend days just getting the crane to the site on old logging roads. Now, with better trucks and planning, it takes half the time. The view of the ocean was worth it, though. How have your site access experiences changed over the years?

Tech has totally changed how we scout sites now. We used to just go off old paper maps, but these days a quick drone flight and some satellite maps save so much time. What used to be a week of guesswork is now a couple hours of solid planning, lol.

My buddy in construction had a crew spend three whole days looking for a drainage issue on a rural plot with those old topographic maps. Last month on a new site, he sent up a drone and spotted the same kind of problem in under twenty minutes from the live feed. The pilot just circled a swampy patch the maps didn't show at all. It's crazy how much less wasted effort there is now. Makes you wonder how much guesswork we just accepted as normal before, doesn't it?
