That time I dropped a load of rebar right in front of the project manager

I was working a site in downtown Denver last spring, doing a tandem lift with another guy, and we got the rebar bundle swinging just a LITTLE too much when we set it down. It tipped over and landed with a BANG right next to the PM's truck. Has anyone else had a close call like that totally change how careful you are with tag lines?

3 weeks after my own rebar close call I started carrying a second tag line in my bag just for tandem lifts like that. @grant.richard makes a good point about sleep too, I bet half of those "freak accidents" happen because guys are running on fumes. Getting a little too casual with the basics is exactly how stuff hits the ground.

Dropped a bundle of rebar myself once, but it was because I was running on no sleep after a double shift. Nobody talks about how being tired makes you sloppy with the basics like tag lines. That close call probably saved you a bigger accident down the road.
