Rant: A guy proposed on my job site and froze the whole crew

We were on a tight schedule for a bridge beam placement when a man brought his girlfriend onto the site to propose. Everyone stopped working to watch, but I was mid-lift and couldn't just drop the load. The foreman had to politely ask them to leave, which killed the romantic mood pretty fast. Your mileage may vary, but maybe remind your crew to keep an eye out for unexpected visitors, it can really throw off your focus.

Read about something similar happening at a factory last month. These surprise proposals at work places are becoming a weird trend online. It might look cute in a video, but it puts real pressure on the workers who have a job to do. Feels like people are more focused on getting a viral moment than thinking about the mess they cause.
