Dropped $300 on a fancy laser level for a tricky lift, it was a total game changer

We had to set a massive AC unit on a roof in downtown Austin, and the spot was a real tight squeeze between two other structures. I figured a laser level would help me line up the pick perfectly from the cab. It projected a clear red line right where the pads needed to go, and we set it down in one smooth move. Anyone else use lasers for precision placement, or do you stick with the old spotters and hand signals?

Ever notice tech makes old skills feel like magic?

Man, you spent three hundred bucks just to draw a straight line? I guess if it keeps you from dropping a giant AC unit through a roof, it's worth it. My crew would just eyeball it and argue for twenty minutes. Now I'm picturing you up there with a sci-fi beam while the old timers are still using their thumbs. Does it come with a setting to zap the guy who gives bad hand signals?

Honestly, the arguing for twenty minutes part is way too real.
