Changed my mind about lattice boom after watching a job in Charleston last month

Always thought lattice was old tech compared to hydraulic, but saw a crew on the Ravenel Bridge fly a 40-ton girder into place with a Manitowoc 3900 and it was smooth as butter. Any of you guys still running lattice for bridge work?

Hold up. A dump truck? In a creek? That must have been something to see. Manitowocs are tough old birds. Never thought about using one for rescue work. Makes you wonder what else those things can do.

Saw a 4100 pull a dump truck out of a creek in '09, never looked at cranes the same way.
