Boss caught me using the load chart like a rookie after 9 years in the seat
I was setting 6 ton panels at a job in Tacoma last Friday and doing it the way I always do, just eyeballing the radius and going off memory. The boss walked up, asked for my chart, and pointed at the boom angle. I had been reading the arc wrong this entire time, off by nearly 4 feet of radius on every pick. He said nothing, just tapped the page and walked off. Now I mark the chart with tape before every lift. How do you all keep your radius honest when the seat gets busy?
Man, that stings worse because he didn't even say a word about it. Nine years of muscle memory working against you is a tough pill, but at least you caught it before something went sideways.
